And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:16-21
The wealthy man, died and he left everything. We only get credit for what we give. And here’s why: because everybody leaves the same amount- ALL.

Well, here we go again! What is God up to?
There are always moving parts; you get in a sweet spot and the Lord shakes things up. I know God isn’t interested in my comfort as much as He is interested in my character. There always seems to be transitions taking place; some are challenging, some are great! But I have to be reminded that God wants me to trust Him regardless.
Lately God has been teaching me to appreciate the good with the bad, or taking the good with the bad. We all know we can’t have our cake and eat it too. We all have strengths and weaknesses. All transitions have strengths and weaknesses, therefore I must get my head around the good and bad that comes with changes.
On a good day, enjoy yourself;
On a bad day, examine your conscience.
God arranges for both kinds of days
So that we won’t take anything for granted.
- Ecclesiastes 7:14 (MSG)
Life is filled with ups and downs, victories and defeats, highs and lows. I love the ups, the victories, and the highs. But I must learn to see God in the downs, the defeats, and the lows, because He is there!
Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy?
Let them sing songs of praise.
- James 5:13
On one hand I am excited about the changes, wondering how God is going to surprise us and on the other hand I am a little concerned. I have to admit I am more excited than concerned, which I am thankful for.
He told her, “You’re talking like an empty-headed fool. We take the good days from God—why not also the bad days?” Not once through all this did Job sin. He said nothing against God.
- Job 2:10 (MSG)
I am very encouraged by some of the organic (natural) things that are happening at New Hope. The church being the church and God being God.
